E3 is one of the biggest gaming events of the year but unfortunately, one of the biggest gaming giants will not be attending. SEGA has stated to Game Informer that it will not have a booth at E3 2015 due to SEGA of America’s ongoing restructuring.
A SEGA representative had this to say to Game Informer:
“Over the next months, SEGA of America will be focusing on the restructure and relocation to Southern California, and we have decided to not attend E3 with our own booth this year. With the majority of our bigger titles launching later in 2015/2016, particularly those from our AAA studios Relic Entertainment, Sports Interactive and Creative Assembly, we are concentrating our efforts for some of these major announcements after our relocation. Instead, we will be collaborating with our various business partners for this year’s E3 show.”
Although there won’t be a SEGA specific booth that doesn’t mean there won’t be SEGA related content. SEGA has said it will be pigging-backing on some of their partners for their various titles both past and future. For instance, the newest Total War entry being displayed at a PC booth could be a possibility. Still no news of a new Sonic Team title as of now but you never can tell in this industry!
