Ubisoft have today revealed that their next DLC to release for Far Cry 4 will be Escape From Durgesh Prison. As part of a collection of DLC’s available through the Season Pass, Escape from Durgesh Prison will be released on January 13th on PC and Xbox Live, and a day later on January 14th for PSN.
When Ubisoft first announced Far Cry 4’s DLC’s, Escape from Durgesh prison was briefly explained as a separate section of the game where Ajay and Hurk awake in the prison having been captured and tortured and of course have to escape. As players make their escape – either solo or in co-op – you’ll have to complete various challenges to recover your weapons, find new skills and generally make your survival through Kyrat less arduous. You’ll also be set side objectives by Pagan Min and the whole thing will end in a final battle with Yuma’s forces.
The main difference here though, compared to Far Cry 4’s regular gameplay is that this DLC includes permadeath. That means of course that if you are killed during your escape, you’ll have to start the whole mission over again. Ubisoft say that this is meant to be a difficult DLC and players will need to learn from their mistakes and plan their actions to get through it. There’s no mention of how co-op works though, whether one player dying ends the game for both or if you can resurrect your team mate at checkpoints perhaps? The whole thing also acts as a time-trial, with leaderboards for players to check their times against others.
The Season Pass is still available to buy, or if you prefer, the DLC can be bought individually.
