Poppy was the first Champion that was released for League of Legends way back in 2010. Since then, the diminutive Demacian Yordle hasn’t seen much in the way of updates. However, with Tristana’s big visual and game-play rework last year, Poppy fans around the world have been waiting with baited breath for what was just announced today:
Poppy’s rework has been finalized.
To begin, she is getting a complete visual overhaul, both in her in-game model and in her skin splash arts. Unlike most visual updates though, all of Poppy’s major splash art has been redrawn. Sadly, this of course means that the much beloved Lollipoppy splash art is going away for good.
I know, I know. It is a very sad day for all of us. Thankfully, Riot anticipated the sure to be overwhelmingly negative reactions to this change, and has graced us with a nod to our favorite
Now that you’ve wiped the tears out of your eyes, let’s move onto gameplay changes. Poppy’s signature tackle ability is still intact, but now she is getting a new passive, two new abilities, and one very entertaining new ultimate.
I won’t go into a super large amount of detail here, but Poppy is maintaining her role as a mini ball-of-death in her rework. Odds are, we won’t actually see her live for a few weeks, but if you’d like to check her out early, head on over to the public beta. You may now return to mourning the loss of old Lollipoppy, I won’t blame you. Otherwise, click the link below for more information on this upcoming change!
