Square Enix have finally released in-depth details about the PS4 version of their MMO, Final Fantasy XIV. The next gen console version will release on April 14th, with a Beta test opening up on February 22nd. The Beta will be available for all PS4 owners to try.
Both standard and collectors editions will be available for pre-order as of January 27th and pre-order bonuses will be awarded for both versions. Pre-ordering either version will get you into the Early Access, letting you play the game from April 11th and also comes with in game items in the form of the Mog Cap and Cait Sith Doll minion. The Collectors Edition, both physical and digital will come with two brand new in game items, the Fat Chocobo mount and Wind-up Moogle minion. Players who currently own the Collectors Editions for the PC or PS3 will also receive these items when the PS4 version launches.

Players who currently own the PS3 version of the game will be able to upgrade to the PS4 version for free and transfer their account over, which is scheduled to start on April 11th. Once an account is upgraded to the PS4 version, players will no longer be able to use the PS3 version unless they purchase another copy.
As with the other platforms, the PS4 version will include 30days free subscription.
Final Fantasy XIV has recently received a new content patch and Square are currently in the process of revealing the next content patch, the first half has been announced as including a new set of dungeons, raids and items and the second half will be revealed later.
